Installation points of positive displacement flowmeter
The volumetric flowmeter has a great advantage and does not need a long front and rear straight pipe section to form a stable flow rate distribution in the pipe. This is because it measures the volume of the fluid directly, rather than the flow rate. Therefore, there is no requirement for velocity distribution in the tube, which brings great convenience to field installation.
However, the gap between the dynamic and static parts of the volumetric flowmeter is very small. In order to ensure the accuracy of measurement, wear is generally not allowed. Therefore, the volumetric flowmeter has a certain requirement for the cleanliness of the medium, so a large number of solid particles cannot enter the flowmeter. When measuring fluids containing solid particles (such as rivers, etc.), a media filter must be installed in front of the flowmeter.
When measuring the medium containing air bubbles, a gas separation device should be installed in front of the flowmeter to avoid the gas volume being measured, which will affect the measurement accuracy of the liquid flow
